Welcome to the torus-proxy

Good morning, good afternoon, and also goodnight! Welcome, dear reader, to my bastion of imaginary reprieve, my way to get away from being in the way, the place where my mind wanders when I am not paying attention, the torus-proxy! What is the torus-proxy? Well, my friend, that is a grand question, no doubt. The answer, however, will take some explaining, which I will attempt in the next few lines.

The torus, in terms of definition, is "a surface of revolution generated by revolving a circle in three-dimensional space" (Wikipedia). Think of a donut, rotating from the inside out, or outside in, if you prefer. It is the same shape that magnetic fields make, were you able to see them. It is the shape of a half apple when cut vertically. It is also believed by some to be the shape of the universe, were we able to see it.

Proxy is, by definition, "the agency, function, or office of a deputy who acts as a substitute for another" (Merriam-Webster). Think of it like a delegate, or representative. It is someone or something who speaks for another of higher authority or from higher perspective.

And so, my dear reader, the torus-proxy is an imaginative representative of the universe of existence.  Traverse with me in the vast expanse of intuition.   Your own consciousness is the very ship in which to set sail, as together we gather from the fields of possibility the ingredients of life, and in the cauldron of time and space let us cook up a smorgasbord of delicious tales for years to come!

our world at a glance

Our world, which is called SolVale, is as far as anyone knows a singular continent on a very young planet located somewhere in the vicinity of Antila II. It is inhabited by various peoples of different genus and species, but humans are the most populous. There are four major realms on the southern tip of the continent: Helmstand, Hemlock, San Guin, and Sandstone Valley.

Helmstand is populated by humans, mostly, and is ruled by a king who presides over a court of the people. Its people rarely venture outside the borders of the realm, preferring the safety and security of the kingdom at large.

Hemlock is a wild land, having three parts: Hemlock West, Hemlock Forest, and Hemlock East. Hemlock west has a variety of wildlife that inhabits the lands west of the forest. However, that area is ruled by Caticus Paws and his pride of Razortooth Cats. Hemlock Forest is old and dangerous; none who have ventured there have ever returned. Hemlock east is home to a gang of outlaws who call themselves Viper Guard, and their symbol is a viper wrapped around the neck of a razortooth.

San Guin is largely unknown, save for tales of the great beaches and the ferry that crosses the Drifters Bay between the Port of San Guin, and the town of Xerifall on the other side.

Sandstone Valley is separated from San Guin by Drifters Bay, which flows into an underground cavern at its innermost reaches. The Town of Xerifall is the only known human-run town in the area, but the humans there are unfriendly and untrustworthy. It is believed that the northern wastes if Sandstone valley is home to the sand bears, but no one has ever ventured to explore the deserts there.

SolVale is split by the Ivory Mountains, and to the East lies the Acres Forest, which is largely unexplored and believed to be as ancient as Hemlock. the northern reaches of the continent remain unexplored by any who are known of locally.

This is the world in which perpetual tales are derived. The cauldron in which the ingredients of imagination are stewed together.
